Vera Paola Shoda, 4th year student of Ph.D. Program in Empowerment Informatics, School of Integrative Global Majors, University of Tsukuba, won the Best Presentation of Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing (AICC) International Conference on December 22, 2019.

The Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing (AICC) 2019 international conference sponsored by the ACM Singapore chapter, Singapore Institute of Electronics, and Kobe University was held last December 21-23, 2019 at the Engineering School of Kobe University. About fifty researchers from Japan, U.S., Germany, Israel, Thailand, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Philippines, Bahamas, Ethiopia, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Sweden gathered to share their current researchers in various fields of AI and cloud computing such as computer vision, machine learning, security and networks. Keynote presentations covered topics such as deep learning applications in medicine, big data for finance, power suits, and context recognition by professors from Tokyo Institute of Technology, North China University of Technology, Hosei University, and Kobe university respectively. Oral presentations were divided in four sessions and poster sessions were done in between the oral sessions. Best presentation awards were awarded to one researcher for each session. Each session consisted of presentations from 9 to 10 researchers. The conference proceedings will be published in the International Conference Proceedings in the ACM Digital library.
