The opening ceremony held on the 28th included remarks from the deputy mayor and Prof. Hiroo Iwata, as representative of the exhibitors. Next, Prof. Iwata introduced the exhibitors and guided attendees around the exhibits, and each of the four EMP students also explained his or her own work and demonstrated it. In addition, EMP faculty member Assistant Professor Fumiaki Murakami described each of the artistic works on exhibit.

Festival attendees young and old could be observed enjoying themselves at the festival, which provided the opportunity to experience freely the surprises and impressions of works of art created using the new science and technology of media art.
