Second external evaluation committee meeting held

On Friday, August 5, 2016, the second meeting was held of the external evaluation committee of the Ph.D. Program in Empowerment Informatics (EMP).

The external evaluation committee is intended to improve the quality of education by making clear the current state of Program activities and related challenges. The Program’s external evaluation committee has five members who are experts from business, research institutions, and other organizations in Japan.

In this meeting of the external evaluation committee, answers to and progress on matters pointed out during the previous external evaluation were described and Program Leader Iwata discussed the current state of globalization and the effects of the Empowerment Studio. After that, EMP students demonstrated their research projects and the committee exchanged opinions with EMP students.

Later, a review was conducted as the third Faculty Development (FD) Training Session and there was an exchange of opinions with EMP faculty in attendance. This served as an opportunity for deepening of shared understanding toward further improvements in the Program.
