The Ph.D. Program in Empowerment Informatics holds an orientation for new students entering in academic year 2014

On April 8, 2014, the Ph.D. Program in Empowerment Informatics (EMP) held an orientation for new students entering in the 2014 academic year. The orientation was attended by new EMP students entering in 2014 together with Program faculty, EMP administrative staff, and others.

EMP Program Leader Prof. Hiroo Iwata made some introductory remarks and then introduced Program faculty. Next, Prof. Toshiyuki Inagaki, Sub-leader of the Harmony area, Prof. Kazuhiko Kato, Sub-leader of the Extension area, and Prof. Yoshiyuki Sankai, Sub-leader of the Supplementation area, each described the pillars for which they are responsible. Furthermore, Prof. Hideaki Kuzuoka, chair of the curriculum committee, described the curriculum. This event provide an opportunity for new EMP students to meet with faculty and staff in person for the first time.
