“CHILDHOOD,” a work by second-year students Jun Nishida, Kosuke Sato, and Hikaru Takatori, wins Kids Design Award and TEPIA Special Award in the Ninth Kids Design Awards

At the Ninth Kids Design Awards held by the Kids Design Association on August 3, 2015, “CHILDHOOD” by second-year students Jun Nishida, Kosuke Sato, and Hikaru Takatori, an innovative bodily transformation device with a hood fully reproduces the world and experiences of a child, won the Kids Design Award and the TEPIA Special Award in the general child safety design category.

The Kids Design Awards recognize designs that contribute to child safety, to creativity and future progress, and to making it easier to have and raise children. Winning works are chosen from more than 470 entries through a documentary primary screening process followed by secondary screening of the actual works by the judges.

The TEPIA Special Award is presented to the work determined to be the best among works intended to understand the relation between advanced technologies and society from a child’s perspective, sponsored by the Association for Technological Excellence Promoting Innovative Advances (TEPIA).
