First external evaluation committee meeting held

On Wednesday, November 25, 2015, the first meeting was held of the external evaluation committee of the Ph.D. Program in Empowerment Informatics (EMP).

The external evaluation committee is intended to improve the quality of education by making clear the current state of Program activities and related challenges. The Program’s external evaluation committee has five members who are experts from business, research institutions, and other organizations in Japan.

In this first meeting, the external evaluation committee members visited the Empowerment Studio for the first time, where they toured the facilities and exchanged opinions with Program students following a summary provided by Program Leader Iwata.

Next, the committee members reviewed what they thought of the Program and exchanged opinions with Program faculty.

This review and exchange of opinions was conducted as the second Faculty Development (FD) Training Session in the 2015 academic year, with about 25 Program faculty members participating. Each member of the eternal evaluation committee made comments that contained numerous suggestions, as this event served as an opportunity for deepening a shared understanding toward further improving the Program.
