The Program participates in the G7 Ibaraki/Tsukuba Science & Technology Ministers’ Meeting

The following works by students of the Ph.D. Program in Empowerment Informatics (EMP) were exhibited during the G7 Ibaraki/Tsukuba Science & Technology Ministers’ Meeting held from Sunday, May 15 through Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Tsukuba International Congress Center: CHILDHOOD, a work by third-year students Jun Nishida, Hikaru Takatori, and Kosuke Sato, and IrukaTact by fourth-year student Aisen Carolina Chacin and second-year student Takeshi Ozu. The students demonstrated and explained their works to science and technology ministers and government representatives from around the world and members of the general public in attendance. During the time the event was open to the general public, approximately 300 people attended each weekday, providing an opportunity to publicize the Program’s activities among a large number of people.

In addition, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported on Mr. Takatori’s description of his team’s work to Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy Shimajiri and representatives of the United States government.
