Team of Koichi Murata, Shota Ekuni, and Yasunari Asakura win prize in innovation section of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016 Japan preliminaries
Bionic Scope, a work by a team consisting of fifth-year EMP students Koichi Murata and Shota Ekuni, second-year EMP student Yasunari Asakura, and second-year student in the Ph.D. Program of the Graduate School of Systems and Engineering Akira Uehara, was exhibited in the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016 Japan preliminaries held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Microsoft Japan’s headquarters, where it won a prize in the innovation section.
Started in 2003 by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Imagine Cup is the world’s largest student IT competition. Nine works (three in each section) are chosen from among all the entries through a documentary screening process, and then the winner in each section is chosen through screening of presentations and demonstrations. Bionic Scope won the top prize in the Innovation section.
