講演タイトル：“Accessible Ubiquitous Skeleton Tracking for Virtual Reality”
概要：Tracking of a user’s body for avatar-based presentation within a virtual environment improves the experience of presence, realism and social expression, while also providing natural human interaction modalities. Numerous tracking solutions exist, ranging from gold standard motion capture through to commodity depth cameras and motion capture suits. We identify a space for software to bridge the quality gap between high-cost and commodity devices through the fusion of data from multiple devices. Such software would allow researchers, small companies and home users of VR to build modular high-quality tracking solutions to suit their needs at minimal cost. This PhD project focuses on building such a device agnostic, inhomogeneous sensor fusion system for real-time skeleton tracking. The current system is open source and supports the identification of sensor dependencies, spatial and temporal calibration and sensor fusion with minimal user input.
